This is not a review, but some musings that I wrote down after watching Southland tales - definetly on my top ten mental movies list. But still a must see. In a way.
IMDB says people who liked it also liked Brazil and Bladerunner. Which makes a twisted kind of sense. My summary is simple;
Buffy and Rock, meets Donnie Darko
If you have never seen a season of Buffy, or the Rock doing his movie/wrestling thing, then a lot of the meta poking fun at ourselves and the fourth wall will make little sense. And it will feel mostly like "Seriously weird shit"That said, it is either the best movie madness ever
Or total batshit crazy

Wow, just having the audacity to stuff all that into a moving, and then cast SMG and Dwayne - and stuffing Jon Lovitz in there?
So if the slightly twisted and mind bending is your piece of pie, then spending some time with Southland Tales is probably not the worst idea for a rainy day. And if you have somehow NOT seen Donnie? Seriously? Now.
